Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Our Commitment
At KIP, privacy is not a feature — it is the foundation. We built KIP around the assumption that nobody should see your raw thoughts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
2. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide our service:
- Account information: Name, email address, and payment details when you create an account or make a purchase.
- Voice recordings: Audio you intentionally capture using the KIP device. These are only recorded when you press and hold the button.
- Device information: Bluetooth connection status, firmware version, and battery level to ensure proper functionality.
- Usage data: Anonymized metrics about feature usage to help us improve the product.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your voice recordings are processed by our AI to categorize and organize your thoughts into tasks, ideas, journal entries, and reminders. We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your recordings for advertising
- Listen to your recordings for any purpose other than providing the service
- Train AI models on your personal data without explicit consent
4. Data Security
All voice data is encrypted with AES-256 both in transit and at rest. Our servers are hosted in secure, SOC 2 compliant data centers. We regularly audit our security practices and work with independent security researchers.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export your data or request complete deletion of your account and all associated data from your account settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently erase all personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app.
